Learning Goals for Film Studies Majors
Student Learning Outcomes
1. Graduating majors will develop media literacy, a critically and historically informed understanding of the development, aesthetics and uses of cinema and other screen arts as expressive media and as a vital part of the 20th and 21st century culture.
2. Graduating majors will be able to view visual media texts analytically, and be able to frame their observations and assessments of those texts in appropriately specific, persuasive and coherent verbal and written work.
3. Graduating students interested in film and video making will demonstrate their compotent use of salient techniques and technologies, augmented by their critical and histroical knowledge of the production process.
